Bigger than Universal?

Ramoji Film City is just an hour's drive from Hyderabad. At 1666 acres, the park is the largest integrated film city in the world. It's also a popular tourism and recreation center. There are both natural and artificial attractions, plus an amusement park.

This weekend, six of seven IPPs (Immersion Program Participants) have decided to check it out. Om will be on a much longer road to Pune, about 350 east of Hyderabad, visiting extended family for the New Year's holiday. Neat!

After sleeping in for a bit, we all hopped in the car and headed to Ramoji film city, which was about an hour drive away from our hotel.

Ramoji film city is primarily a filming location for many well known Bollywood and Telugu films. The main attraction is a tour through the "city" to see various sets including Northern Indian and Southern Indian markets, an airport, train station and hospital.

There are many open areas for strolling and although we didn't quite get any of the movie references, it was still great to see where so many of India's films came to life.

The small theme park has a few rides that bring back memories of Disney World and Universal Studios. There is a sort of "It's a Small World" ride (without the much maligned song track) and an elevator crash simulation, much like the well known Tower of Terror at Disney World.. We all had a fun afternoon exploring all that film city had to offer.

I think Danny would make a great Robin.

 Kalie would definitely enjoy Paris!

Upon our return, we went back to Cinnamon for dinner. Last time we were there, the chef mentioned that he would be having some pumpkin specials around Halloween, and we were looking forward to trying them out. Cinnamon did not disappoint! We all had great meals.
